I've always had a desire to help people. I worked in the healthcare industry for several years and decided to further my education so that I could provide more extensive care to individuals in underprivileged populations. I had searched for an accredited school close to home and came upon Herzing. After speaking to an admissions advisor, it seemed like a good fit for me. I enrolled, and I’m really glad that I did!
I experienced a lot of personal challenges while getting my Master’s Degree. I lost my brother and was having difficulty finding a clinical. Herzing was very understanding of my situation and provided me the opportunity to make up one of my classes and revised my schedule. This allowed me to do my clinical rotation the following semester. All the courses provided by Herzing during my program were valuable in preparing me for my career. The best part was that it didn’t take me that long to complete my degree!
I would advise any individual who is pursuing a degree in nursing to study hard, develop a rapport with your school staff and work hard to reach your goals. Don’t give up when things get hard!
